
Biography
Todd Clark is a Canadian award-winning songwriter and musician. Clark is best known for co-writing Phillip Phillips’ hit single, “Gone, Gone, Gone.” Not only did the song reach #1 at both Triple A and AC radio, it was also used in multiple television programs (TODAY, Live! with Kelly & Michael, Jimmy Kimmel Live, American Idol, and Red Band Society) feature films (Delivery Man, Grudge Match, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and two nationally-run television advertisements for Beats Audio and American Family Insurance.
Selling more than 2 Million copies, ‘Gone’ was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in 2014 and following that, Clark received the prestigious Pop Award given by both SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada) and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) for Most Performed Song in 2013. In the same year, Music Canada honored Clark for his song “Kiss Goodnight” (certificated Gold in Canada), co- written for Sony Canada’s, Tyler Shaw.
Most recently, Clark penned Phillips’ latest single, “Unpack Your Heart” (Top 20 at Hot AC radio), as well as the first single off of his sophomore album, Behind The Light entitled, “Raging Fire” (Top 10 at Hot AC radio). ‘Unpack’ is currently featured in Chrysler’s Dodge Ram television campaign. Other notable releases include “Last Hot Night,” co-written with the Goo Goo Dolls’ frontman, John Rzeznik for his latest release, Magnetic (2013), “Red Dress” performed by actress/singer Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) and country veteran, Joe Nichols for Lucy’s debut album, Road Between (2014), and “Here Comes The Thunder” (top 10 Country radio, certified Gold in Canada) for Tim Hicks’ sophomore album, 5:01 (2014).
Prior to his success as one of Canada’s preeminent songwriters, Todd Clark spent 10 years as the lead singer and primary songwriter of Alt/Pop band, Pilot Speed (formerly known as Pilot). During their run the band self-produced 1 EP, 3 full-length albums and toured extensively, garnering International success in Japan, Australia, and the United States. In Canada, “Caught by the Window” (released under MapleMusic Recordings) achieved both critical and commercial achievement. “Into Your Hideout,” the first single from the record, quickly became a Top 5 hit on Rock radio and acquired mainstay on MuchMusic. These songs have also been placed in film (Foolproof, Tell Me You Love Me, Death Sentence, and Going the Distance), television (One Tree Hill, Party of Five, Whistler, Kyle XY, and Degrassi), and within commercials for the WWE and GoodLife Fitness.
